Duran Refugees Mental Health Services

ABOUT US

At Duran Refugees MHS, we specialize in helping new immigrant families to Canada who may be eligible to receive mental health benefits through the Interim Federal Health Program.

Our team of experienced therapists is dedicated to providing personalized and compassionate mental health care. We are committed to helping individuals, couples, and families, including children and adolescents, overcome symptoms that may feel overwhelming, such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, PTSD, grief, and difficulty adapting to a new culture, among others. If you are a refugee claimant, please contact us to see if you are eligible to receive benefits. We also provide court reports for refugee claimants who require it at no cost. We understand that immigrating to a new country as a refugee claimant can be an immensely challenging process. Often, refugee claimants are forced to flee their countries to preserve their lives due to the persecution they face. This departure typically happens hastily and without prior planning. Upon arrival in a new country, refugee claimants are confronted with a host of new experiences—different culture, people, customs, weather, and food—which can be overwhelming. Moreover, many refugee claimants suffer from symptoms resulting from the persecution they endured, which can manifest physically, emotionally, and cognitively, thereby impacting their overall quality of life. Additionally, there is often a significant mental burden associated with preparing for immigration hearings, as recalling, and talking about traumatic events can be distressing. In light of these challenges, we are here to assist. Refugee claimants may encounter initial difficulties adjusting to life in Canada, and one of the ways the Canadian Government supports them is by providing psychological benefits.
